With a robust background in immigration law, parliamentary procedure, and statutory drafting, Terrance brings over two decades of hands-on legal practice and policy experience across the United Kingdom and Zambia. A native English speaker and bilingual professional, he has cultivated deep expertise in advising clients, preparing complex submissions, and representing clients in courts and tribunals.
Beginning his career in Zambia, he trained and practiced as an advocate, developing a broad foundation across criminal, civil, matrimonial, conveyance, commercial, and banking law. As a Junior Advocate and later as an Advocate at Lusaka firms, he consistently took instructions from clients, prepared strategic legal advice, and represented clients before courts and legal tribunals.
His career then expanded into parliamentary and legal administration at the National Assembly of Zambia, where he advised Members of Parliament on legislative and parliamentary procedure. He drafted private members’ bills and motions, crafted legal speeches for MPs and leadership, and represented the Parliament in court when required. This experience sharpened his expertise in legislative drafting and public legal processes.
In 1998, he transitioned to the private sector in the United Kingdom, taking on roles that fused client instruction-taking with litigation preparation. As an Immigration Senior Case Worker with Noden & Co. Solicitors (London), he led case management activities, mentored caseworkers, and prepared applications and submissions for courts and government bodies. His work often involved advising clients on legal matters, coordinating with counsel, and ensuring that submissions were meticulously prepared to advance client interests.
His formal qualifications include an LLB from the University of Zambia (1994) and an LLM in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex (2000–2001). He has pursued continuous professional development through UK-sponsored training, including the LSC Accreditation Level Two Course for Senior Legal Caseworkers and the Legal Transfer Test, alongside an International Legislative Drafting course conducted in India.
